THE CPCAB TRAINING ROUTE

'

Our CPCAB-awarded Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills represents the initial step in training as a qualified counsellor.

Counselling, in a profession context is overseen by the Professional Standards Authority in the UK, which ensures that regulatory authorities in the health professions are provided with a set of recognised standards for ethical & safe practice, and have Accredited Registers of qualified counsellors, the largest of which is the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).

The Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (CSK-L2) is the first stage on your path to a recognised qualification in counselling at Level 4, which can, as part of the CPCAB Level 4 course, build in an assessment by BACP (the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) the largest such organisation in the UK, affording graduates immediate recognition as full BACP members upon completion of your training.

Please be aware that not all CPCAB-recognised centres support a BACP-approved qualification, so please do check with your chosen Level 4 provider first. Whoever you choose as your provider, we recommend you pick a counselling training that is recognised by an organisation listed as a counselling-register holder by UK's Professional Standards Authority. CPCAB's BACP-approved L4 training course meets the requirements for several of these bodies.

You can find a list of counselling organisations with Accredited Registers by visiting the UK's Professional Standards Authority website, and an index of L4 training providers in your local area on the Centre Finder page on the CPCAB website.
